We Are Environmentally-Friendly and Recycle Our Trees for Firewood
Daley’s Tree Service
is aware of the environment concerns of our planet, and the need to make use of our resources. This is why we recycle the trees that we remove from our customers’ properties and turn chop them into firewood. There are instances where we remove a tree and provide firewood from the same tree to the customer – a one-stop-deal that is convenient, cost-effective, and eco-friendly.

Information About Trees Used for Firewood
Hardwood Firewood
Hardwoods such as maple, oak, ash, birch, and most fruit trees are the best burning woods that will give you a hotter and longer burn time. These woods have the least pitch and sap and are generally cleaner to handle.
Softwood Firewood
Softwood is the cheapest type of wood you can buy. Fir is the best choice, but other softwoods, including pine, balsam, spruce, cedar, tamarack, alder, and poplar, are also good options. Softwoods tend to burn faster and leave finer ash compared to hardwoods.
For Your Safety, Avoid Burning:
- Painted or varnished wood, trim, or other wood by-products
- Pressure-treated lumber
- Driftwood
- Engineered sheet goods, such as plywood, particleboard, and MDF
- Hardboard or other compressed paper products
If you suffer from allergies, some woods, especially aromatic cedar, should also be used with caution.
